F P Hurley delivered an extensive decarbonisation project at Warwick Hospital, with construction starting in December 2023 The project, which was procured through The Carbon and Energy Fund (CEF), aims to cut carbon and energy costs for Warwick Hospital, and takes a whole building approach using a range of measures to target carbon savings. The project is part of a fifteen year Energy Infrastructure Project Agreement.

This project aims to substantially decrease South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust’s carbon footprint and included the upgrade of the power supply, installation of air and water source heat pumps, and new district heating mains for satellite plantrooms. Additional enhancements included solar PV panels and window upgrades, all contributing to the Trust’s Net Zero goal.

To ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations, including ambulance access, patients, and public parking, careful planning and communication with the client was paramount.
