Description:
F P Hurley was awarded this major contract for a purpose built, state of the art and energy efficient school. Work commenced in May 2009 and is due to last 18 months before completion. The school is set to provide an enhanced, vibrant learning environment for 1,260 pupils.

The building is designed to provide a clear statement of sustainability, and is set to achieve a BREEAM Very Good Status. The design is focused on passive technologies, incorporating natural ventilation, daylight and solar warming. The building will benefit from solar hot water panels, a biomass boiler and high thermal efficiency. A natural ventilation strategy has been adopted and classrooms will be naturally ventilated.
